About Us
My name is Val, I fell in love with the yorkshire terrier
breed probably in 1995, not long after I started working for a veterinarian. I got my first yorkie in 2000 after my second child was born and I quit working full-time and went to just part-time so I could be home with the kids (human and furry!!). My husband and I started breeding yorkies in 2003 after a long search for the perfect stud dog to begin our small breeding program. We strive to raise yorkies that are beautiful, healthy, and have excellent personalities. Our goal is to someday raise our own show dog from our personal line of yorkies and finish it to championship. This will probably take many years but we are up for the challenge.
In 2005 I bought our first Biewer and fell in love. I am actively involved with the Biewer Breed Club International (BBCI) which is working hard to get the Biewer breed AKC recognized. We are showing our Biewers in shows with the IABCA and NAKC. Our goal is to introduce people to this spectacular breed that steals your heart (and never lets go!!) and to develop the breed in the USA, within the standard set by the breed's founders, with health, quality, good personality, and beauty as top priorities.
In the spring of 2007 we added four beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to our furry family. We hope they will be beautiful and healthy represenatives for us to help carry on this regal and wonderful breed.
All my dogs live and are raised in my home where they are constantly exposed to my 3 children and large family. This, I feel, allows our puppies to be very well adjusted and even-tempered when they leave our home to go to their new family. We are located in in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We will have a few litters a year so check back with us often and we will keep you posted on upcoming litters. Welcome to Windy Hill Yorkies where we strive to raise healthy, beautiful puppies. We have 6 Yorkies, 9 Biewers, and 4 Cavaliers that make up our breeding program.
